INGRID Z, THE WRECKING BALL AND JUMBLE SALE, THE RESIDENCE, 31 JULY 2009, HACKNEY WICKED

ROCKING THE FOUNDATION OF THE VERGER'S COTTAGE FOR ONE LAST TIME -
As St. Mary of Eton Church posts notice of demolition to Artist/Gallerist/Lady
Ingrid Z's Residence, prepare for a triumph of will in this positive destruction of personal property:

THE WRECKING BALL
- An international flashmob slamdance disco -
Private View: 31.07.09, 9pm

A culmination of You-tube driven interactive performance,
a lesson in Ingrid Z's special brand of ballet
and a video dance party experience in reflective surround.
Installed upstairs in a previously unveiled room of The Residence,
this chamber served as the artist's exclusive private living quarters,
bedroom, rumpous room, art studio and recording studio to popstar Patrick Wolf,
drawing to close the past 5 years of well publicised tenancy.

JUMBLE SALE
Preview/Absentee Bids on-line from 1.08.09, Live Auction: 2.08.09, 4pm

100 Personal Effects go up for sale from the Estate of Ingrid Z
Brimming with provenence, and entirely re-developed by an On-The-Fly-Art-Mob featuring London's next artist gentry. In a time of loss to jobs and homes, we can all look to Christie's and Sotheby's for their undying inspiration to recognise that a climate of economic uncertainty does not need to effect us all. If you haven't already started your collection, now is a fabulous time to buy.

The event joins forces with
HACKNEY WICKED
- A Major Art Festival -
With hundreds of Open-Studios, Gallery Shows, Fete for the Wicked, Live Music Stage, Guided Tours, Workshops, Performances & Installations across Hackney Wick.
Closing with a Massive Soiree and BBQ during the Hackney Wick Regatta by the canal. Tour of the 2012 Olympic site and Outdoor Film Screening are also proposed.

In just its 2nd year running, HACKNEY WICKED has monopolised the area's creative resources, putting on the ritz for the Legacy of East London's Artworld and roping in boy-from-the-hood Gavin Turk as its first Patron. Going-for-GOLD as it grows faster than dandelions from an idea rooted firmly in the boozey back garden of none other than The Residence's now doomed location, The Verger's Cottage... Planted over pints of cider enjoyed between Co-Founders Ingrid Z and her then Gallery Assistant/now Face of Hollywick Laura May Lewis, rising Elevator Gallerists Simon Reuben-White & Cherie Marie Veiderveld, and two Decima dogs from down the road called Alex Chappel and David C. West -who were willingly abducted in a press scandal while on holiday in Berlin. Negotiations for their release are pending.
So put your hands together
and pray for rain!
This summer is going to be HOT!

Stay tuned for cover shots, party photos, runaway images, backstage photos, quotes, and more.
